This week was great...but ended off...ugh

Heyo,

This week a lot of things happened. First of all we got in with our investigator Andrea and had a...pretty rough lesson. I am not sure we are getting anywhere with her. She is reading and coming to church and praying, but she keeps kinda Bible bashing us as we try to explain stuff to her. She is getting a lot of information about us from different sources. Some not so good. It was mainly a talk on what we do in the temple without telling too much about it. Luckly, her boyfriend came in at times to back us up, but I still feel that she will not progress if this keeps happening. I hope that we can help her a ton to understand.

On the other side, we got some rather happy news. We got a call on Thursday from another Zone Leader in Lethbridge saying that a investigator that is in our area called him and wanted to be baptized. They went to meet her and they set her date on April 14th! We just have to teach her the lessons and also hope that she will be able to come to church twice in a row. Her name is Mickayla and she seems super nice and solid. I hope that she goes through with this as we work with her.

We are still working with the ward here and there. We are hopefully going to do splits with them on Wednesday. We are also trying to get in contact with more people and get to know our ward more.

Also, Elder Smith is getting transferred :'(. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! We had such a fun time together. He is going somewhere in the north, which means either in Calgary or somewhere near there. It is going to be tough seeing him go. I wonder if I am going to like my new companion or if its going to be another rough one. :/ Hopefully it is one that we like.

I have been out almost for 7 and 1/2 months. This mission is going by pretty fast, but I wonder if it is going to go faster. Perhaps so. Anyway, there is quite a bit that is going to happen this week with the new companion and all and the new investigator with the baptismal date. It will be hard to juggle it.

This last sacrament meeting was awesome though. It was mainly focused on the spirit of service! There was a lot of times where I did feel the spirit of peace come over me when the speakers talked about it. It was swell. I hope our investigators felt it as well. Well, I think that is all I have to report on this week. Love you all and stay safe!

This week was...meh

Heyo,

The week has been better, but still not too active in the work. We were surprised however that the ward mission leader wants to start doing exchanges with the ward missionaries and us as well. It will get us to do something. The ward is getting more and more into the work and because of Elder Holland coming down to Lethbridge for a Leadership training, I think that was the final push that helped them want to do something. Hopefully, it will give us more activities to do.

Yes, next week is transfers week and it is highly probable that Elder Smith is going to leave this area. He was a cool companion though and I learned quite a bit from him. He is very intelligent. He has also taught me a lot of valuable insights. But we will see how my next companion will be.

We don't have any senior couples serving in our area, but I don't doubt that there are other senior couples here in the mission.

Elder Nelson's devotional was awesome. We only saw a broadcast of it here in Lethbridge. It was pretty funny though how he called up 4 elders and they weren't expecting anything. Then he asked them to role play with them. It would have been terrifying for me if I got called up to role play with an apostle. But he taught us that we need to talk more not just to investigators, but to our members as well. We need to work hard with the members cause we can't do it alone. Me and Elder Smith both looked at each other and nodded because that's what we were trying to do. After the devotional, we helped moved this family in a new house for 6 Freakin Hours! I have been so sore these past 2 days and it is nuts. I have to keep popping my back and all. Anyways, that is mainly what happened this week.

We are trying to do, as usual, help our ward do missionary work. I don't know how exactly they are responding, but the ward council wants to do something. We are also trying to help some less-actives come back and there are quite a bit of them.

Well, that is really the main points of what happen this week. We are going on exchanges with our district leader tomorrow and we will see how that will go. Love you all!

This week is warming up

This week has gotten a bit better. The ward is now trying to work with us so we can get to know more people and all. We will start going home teaching with them sooner or later as soon as there time is free. This week however was pretty grand. We went to a less-actives house again and made some lasanga. It was really good. However, we ate it three days in a row and I am kinda sick of it so I am going to take a break from it and focus on finishing my mac & cheese.

I got mail last P-day. I got a package from my priest leader and I loved all the letters the priest sent to me. Although, they were pretty old, but I could feel the love and care for me. Thank you guys for supporting me out here. It is really tough and I hate to say what everyone else is saying about missions, but it is a lot of fun!

We have been getting more and more less-actives lessons and it has been going swell. I seem to do better with less-active lessons than investigator lessons. Plus though, we are planning a finding activity with the other YSA wards in our zone. WE are going to have a movie night where members can invite their friends to watch 17 Miracles. Hopefully, this will spike up a few interests.

I may get mail today but I am not too sure. Hopefully the zone leaders will bring it to us mail today after their little activity for their P-day.

I got some exciting news though. Elder Russell M. Nelson is coming to our mission to speak with us. Jeez, just keep the apostles coming. Our mission must be pretty popular for a bunch of apostle to come here. Also, Elder Holland is coming! It is freaking crazy on what is going on. I wonder what they are going to say to us. :/

Well, that is all that has happened this week. We are still trying to get in with members and help them with missionary work. Hopefully, that will pick up this week! Love you all!

Ok...

Alright, the reason being why my letter was so stinking short last week was because my computer decided to freeze up randomly and go crazy! I couldn't really do anything! I couldn't email much people and I only had like 5 minutes to email all of you so I am sooooooo sorry for that! Hopefully the computer won't do that again which now it seems to be working great now!

Anyways, this last week was insanely cold! Yeah it said it was like -25 C when we call for the weather, but they don't usually tell us of the extreme wind chill which could make it go to -40!! If that happens, we are not allowed to go out anywhere. We have to stay in, so guess what we did most of this week? Stay in!! Yep! Whooooooooo!!!!...and it was boring...but hopefully the weather will do better this week.

We did go to a small activity with our YSA members. They had a talent show and before you ask, No, I did not participate in the talent show because of short notice. I wanted to, but I was a bit late. But the entertainment was great! All the members were great and they did pretty dang good. One did like a little rock concert. Another did a magic show. Then there was a random pie eating contest which was slightly entertaining.

However, the thing that was pretty dang cool was even before the talent show, we went to help and after we were done setting up, members took us out to dinner and we went to Little Caesars! Holy fetch they are different! They sell salad here! What the Fetch?! And there pizza for hot and ready is so small compared to ours and it cost $8! But we still bought some and me and Elder Smith gorged ourselves with pizza and it was fun. The members that took us out really like us and we try to help them to do missionary work.

And on that point that is what we are mainly focusing on out here. We are trying to help members get involved in missionary work because we can't all do it by ourself. We are trying to meet with as many members as possible and possibly get in their house to sit down and get to know them and help us do some missionary work. It is pretty hard to adjust to the members schedules because they have school and work. But we are trying to do the best we can do here. Sometimes it is a pain to be in this area, sometimes it is a blast.

Anywho, that is all that we got so far and again I am sorry for the short email last week and hopefully it does not happen again. Love you all and hopefully I will get your snail mail soon!

Sooooooo...rough week....

Yeah, lots of crazy things happened that made this quite a rough week. Elder Smith has been feeling sick quite frequently which is not good, but we are hoping he gets better. And guess what happened to the Elder who had his companion go home last transfer? His new companion also went home so now he is back with the Zone Leaders again. He was kinda freaking out at that time because he didn't know what the heck was going on?

Also, no one really has responded to our text messages for us to talk to and that sucks. We tried visiting a couple less-actives which was swell. but not much. But, a less-active member did call us and asked us to leave a spiritual message with him and give a blessing which was very nice! Got us something to do.

As for the two chinese women, they haven't responded to us either. Seems like everyone was busy last week which was somewhat odd. We also got some new Elders in the zone with new companionships and all. They seem cool. Our P-day though was super tiring! We played basketball and volleyball all day! I am so sore from that day. I may probably lost a little weight from that day as well.

I could write more letters yes, but I don't have any stamps and I am kinda low on money at the moment, but when we get more I will definitely get some.

Also, I haven't taught any classes or gave any talks since I got here. Seems like they got that taken care of so it is good. Well, I should be getting mail tomorrow so if you sent any letters, I may get them tomorrow. Love you all! Bye

Transfer week!!!!...but none of us are getting transferred (yet)

Yep you read the title right. Me and my companion are not going anywhere as for now. I am still freaking out that none of us are leaving seeing that we enjoy each others company. The district we are in is not changing as much either. Only one Elder is leaving from our zone and our elder who's companion left is getting a new companion.

We have been trying to meet people this week and it has been going pretty well. They are still busy with school and all, but they are nice enough to let us in and talk a bit. We haven't got in touch with our investigator yet, but we are hoping we will soon. We got two potential investigators whoa are both Chinese. They have been reading the book of mormon but haven't invited us over quite yet. We will work on them sooner or later.

We made some bread with a less-active family this week with another set of Elders and it was awesome!!! I will send you pictures here:
(This is the edge of my head, Elder Black, and Elder Tesimale having fun making bread)

(Elder Black is on the left, Elder Tesimale, and my companion on the bottom right, Elder Smith)

We had such a blast making bread! The member we made bread with gave us her little secrets on how to make bread and all. She is a sweet sister and loves to have missionaries over. Sorry I can't show a picture of her. I will see what I can do with it.

Well, here comes another transfer and we are going to make the best of it. Wish us luck and love you all back home!

This week was...crazy

Well, this week was quite interesting. We talked to some less actives and got to know some more people of the ward. We also got to go to YSA activities and learn more and more about the gospel and it was sweet.

The thing that was pretty dang wierd was that we had an investigator that looked up some Anti-Mormon videos and wanted us to watch the movie with her next time we came. We didn't know how to really respond and we are not sure if we can or even we want to. It will be interesting on what will happen. She has been coming to church though and participating well in the Gospel Principles class by answering all the questions which is alarming to us because I don't think investigators usually do that at church.

I see one of my MTC district budies here since he is in our zone. He sprained his ankle yesterday during P-day. Which reminds me, last week on P-day we went shopping at Costco which brought many memories of home. It was like the structure of Costco was the same as home. But we got lots of good deals there and I will think I will be good for the rest of the transfer. We also went to a Sushi buffe this P-day and for someone who didn't like seafood before my mission, it was really good. I loved it and we stuffed ourselves so much. I also learned how to use chopsticks there which was awesome!

I sent a letter home explaining more of what last week was. Hopefully it will get to you soon. Love you all! See ya!

WHOOOOOOOOOOO!

This week was pretty sweet. We actually got to talk to people since they got their school figured out and all. It was just an introduction to the missionaries. We just have the YSA ward. No family wards. Nada! Zipo! Just the YSA.

Anywho, we got a lesson with an investigator. Her name is Andrea and she had a ton of questions. Very deep questions and she is very knowledgeable! We talk about one subject and then she has a question about another and it was just crazy trying to keep up with her! Although we did answer most of her questions and invited her to read the Book of Mormon more. Hopefully, she will do that next time we see her.

We also got a referral from the Lethbrige zone leader in our area and we went over, but no one was there. We will check back with them sometime and see if he is still interested.

Elder Smith and I have been getting along quite smoothly. He is way better than my last companion. He has been out 15 months and is sweet! We find things in common and have plenty to talk about! Tis sweet.

The weather out here has died down for now, but they say it is going to be crazy again soon and it may get too crazy for us to go out. :/. Hopefully we won't get snowed in this week.

Anywho, that is all I got to say. Love you all! Bye!

Lethbridge's freaking crazy weather

Heyo!

What is going on out there? The weather out here is freaking crazy! It is so fetching windy here! It has, as they say, 60 km of wind and it is hailing as well here! It is so crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!! GAH!!!!! I guess this is what it means on Canada weather.

Real quick on the games I have mentioned: WE ONLY PLAY THEM ON P-DAY!!! I said my companion got me into it by talking about it. We didn't play it till P-day. It is ok.

Now, out here in the YSA ward, we don't go tracting. It isn't really effective out here. We usually just text the Young Adults and ask if we can come over and share a message. The investigators that we have have been busy or been gone. We are working with our ward council teach people and according to the people in Ward Council, some of their friends want to take the lessons. The problem is just getting the time because school is starting and it has been crazy for them. This week will be a good one though since everyone will be back. We only cover the YSA ward.

We do however go over to this less-actives house quite often and keep inviting him to activities and share spiritual experiences. It is amazing because they love us and try to come, but work is crazy for them, but we still try to be polite and keep inviting.

I am going to have to get used to this weather pretty soon or else I may die out here! By the way, I did say my companions name in my last letter...-__-. Well, I got to go! Lots of stuff to do today. See ya.

New Area!

HEYO,
Yep, the subject of this email is right! I have been transferred to a new area and you probably do not know it. It is in West Lethbridge and HOLY FETCH it is cold and windy here! We are in charge of a YSA ward which seems backwards to me because my last area was mainly...old people. Here its just all my age. My new companion is Elder Smith which is way different than my previous two companions. My last two companions were athletic, jocky, and was somewhat in good shape. Here it is way different!! My companion is a huge nerd, geek, and is very smart! Plus my new zone is also nerdy. Well, it is split in half with Jocks and Nerd, but I hang out with both. My new companion got me into Dungeons and Dragons!
We do have one investigator here, but I haven't met here quite yet because she hasn't come home from the holidays. We have quite a bit of less-actives here though. One who is a very very very very very very nerdy person and knows a ton about video games. Like he knows so much, he could probably give you a history of it. You thought I knew a lot about video games? OOOOOOOOOO NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!
My cold is getting better. Still have a bit of it still and my nose is still stuffy at some times. NO biggy. My zone is really really close together which is nice because we see missionaries every day here and its so cool!!! They all like me and I like them as well!!!!

It is crazy to hear all that is going on in the ward back at home! So much change and it won't be the same when I get back! Wow! Then again, this is only the beginning of the change eh? I do want to admit something. Canada has successfully left an imprint on me. I have now begun to say "eh" a lot frequently now. :( It is not although with a Canadian accent so hopefully I won't pick that up.
Love you all and fight through this winter!
